A large piece of the property space in Hunter’s Ridge, just west of Interstate 95, recently sold for $8.7 million.

Stirling Sotheby’s International Realty negotiated the sale of 398 home sites to buyers including The Resource Group LLC,  an investment and development group out of Jacksonville.

Associate and real estate agent John Kurtz negotiated the two-part sale representing both the sellers.

Most of the properties in the 5,000-acre developent of regional impact were for single-family homes, and Kurtz said that is because there is a demand for housing in the area.

“There is certainly a shortage of available lots right now in that area,” Kurtz said. “So this definitely opens up for more national builders to have opportunities to come to Ormond Beach and build and grow. It’s terrific for Ormond Beach.”

Hunter’s Ridge still has 1,100 undeveloped acres approved for 1,900 home sites, as well as commercial space, a new school and other amenities. Kurtz, of Stirling Sotheby’s International Realty, also represents the seller of this remaining acreage, which is on the market for $15 million.
