The Cat Club of Palm Beaches' cat show is coming to Ormond Beach Jan. 18.

If you hear a slight increase in meows or purrs this weekend, you may have stumbled upon the Cat Club of Palm Beaches cat show.

At 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, feline fanciers will congregate at the Nova Recreation Center in Ormond Beach for the IAMS sponsored cat show. This year, the show is featuring 7-year-old Blueberry as the Ambassador Cat.

Usually at cat shows, spectators are encouraged to look but not touch. With the Ambassador Cat present, admirers will be able to pet the sociable and friendly feline.

Blueberry is a Ragamuffin cat,  the Cat Fanciers’ Association’s newest championship breed. His owner Laura Gregory describes Blueberry as a hound for affection.

“He takes his job seriously,’” Gregory said in an email,  “and soaks up all the attention, love and petting he can absorb in a weekend.”

Admission into the show costs $6, or $5 for children and seniors. Visit flcatshows.com.
