727 Fusion moves into European Village

A new restaurant is in the process of making a home at the European Village. 727, a fusion fine dining eatery with live jazz music will take the place of what was formerly Europa.

The sister restaurant to 386 in Palm Coast’s The Hammock, the menu mixes a variety of cultures with influences of Italian, French, American and Japanese. Executive Chef Casey Ford, formerly of Rose Villa and Le Crepe in Ormond Beach, will be in the kitchen serving items such as filet mignon tartare, poached pear and blue cheese salad, scallop oscar and grilled lamb chops.

“What we’re bringing is a very mature, very sexy vibe,” said Frank DeMaio, principal owner of 386, who is partnering with Tiffany Burckhalter, principal owner of 727, to elevate the eating experience in Palm Coast.

727 will celebrate its grand opening Friday, May 16 with music by jazz band Hot House. Following the grand opening, Palm Coast jazz singer Linda Cole will perform every Friday night throughout the summer.

Big Easy Café closes doors
In the midst of Flagler Restaurant week, the Big Easy Café held its last diner service Saturday, April 26.

"It is for family reasons primarily to be with the kids more often which drove the decision to sell,” wrote owners Walt and Nicole Mazie on the restaurant’s website. “There were some challenges we had to face along the way, but they were expected and normal to running a restaurant. What we did not expect or anticipate, was all the relationships we had encountered along the way on this journey. The relationships is what we will miss above all else.

“We all shared a part of our lives with one another and I know Nicole and I have enjoyed every minute of it.”

The Mazies opened the Big Easy Cafe at 213 S. Second St.in Flagler Beach July 4, 2010.

The Tuscan Grille moves under the Flagler Bridge
The Tuscan Grille, formerly located at 1916 S. Oceanshore Blvd, Flagler Beach, has moved across town to 820 Moody Lane, located just under the Flagler Beach Bridge on the north side.

The eatery, which is owned by the same owners of Sweet Water’s Smokehouse Bar & Grill,, will be open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays, 4-10 p.m. Saturdays and 4-9 p.m. Sundays. Call 693-4869.

Hammock Beach serves Mother’s Day brunch on the water
Hammock Beach Resort is offering two brunch buffet options to celebrate Mother’s Day Sunday, May 11.

Cruise the Intracoastal Waterway 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. aboard Hammock Beach Resort’s 117-foot yacht, the Sundancer, while enjoying a Mother’s Day brunch buffet. Choose from fresh fruits and berries, fresh seafood, pastries, bottomless mimosas and bloody Marys. Boarding begins at 9:45 a.m. The cost is $47.50 per adult and $15 per child (ages 4-12).
