Love and obsession, good versus evil and a classic love triangle entangle the ballet, “Phantom,” based on the novel by Gaston Leroux. Dance Alive National Ballet, of Gainesville, will bring the ballet to the Flagler Auditorium for a one-night show Friday, Nov. 7.

Choreographed by Executive/Artistic Director Kim Tuttle and performed by an international cast of award-winning dancers, the ballet is set to a variety of music, including techno, rock and opera.

Those who frequent the Flagler Auditorium should be familiar with Dance Alive’s annual production of “The Nutcracker,” which incorporates local dance students. This year, they will not be performing that ballet in Palm Coast. Instead, this performance will offer the audience a different side of the dance company with its large set pieces and big theatrics.

“Phantom” is the first paid performance of the Flagler Auditorium’s 23rd season. Under the care of the Auditorium Governing Board and Director Lisa McDevitt, the Flagler Auditorium has expanded its season to offer more than 30 performances. Events include: international sensation Charo; Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol;” The State Ballet Theater of Russia’s production of “Swan Lake;” “Menopause: the Musical;” “Ballroom with a Twist,” featuring “Dancing With the Stars” pros Val Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd, and finalists from “So You Think You Can Dance?” and “American Idol;” and Beatles tribute band, American English.

The auditorium’s tradition of giving back also is continuing with free community performances by regional and national military bands throughout the year.

The auditorium box office also will offer a 10% discount to dancers who mention their own company.
