Ormond Beach Lions Celebrate 60 Years

The Ormond Beach Lions Club celebrated 60 years of service to the community in a special ceremony on Nov. 12. The organization was started Nov. 8, 1954.

The event featured remarks from Lions District Governor Carolyn Lloyd and Past International Director Neil Spencer. Special Proclamations were presented to the club by Ormond Beach City Commissioner Bill Partington and Volusia County Councilwoman Debra Denys.

Several members received the International President's Certificate of Appreciation Award, Lions' fourth highest award, including:

  • Scott Ryals
  • Don Abbott
  • Al Legg

A special appreciation plaque was presented to each of 12 past Club Presidents including: —Andy Romano

During the ceremony, the Ormond Lions renewed their commitment to serve the needs of those in the community needing assistance to improve their sight and hearing.
