An April Fools prank got the hopes up of a few Ormond Beach residents.
A sign reading “Trader Joes Coming Soon” hung on the building that previously housed Food Lion April 1, prompting many residents to question it’s accuracy. Though a Trader Joe’s rep could not be reached for comment, city of Ormond Beach Economic Development Director Joe Mannarino said it was a false allegation.
“The building’s owner is still negotiating with a tenant,” Mannarino said. “It’s not Trader Joes as far as I know.”
The person who put the sign up, still remains anonymous.
