Biz Buzz: Local family's apartment business grows

Lowell and Nancy Lohman, and son, Ty, recently purchased six apartment complexes in Orlando and Jacksonville totaling 1,147 apartments for $31.5 million.

They have invested over $73 million in apartments in the last two years and now own 17 apartment complexes in Daytona Beach, Orlando and Jacksonville.

The Ormond Beach residents have 50 employees after starting their apartment business a few years ago and own a total of 2,477 apartment units. In Ormond Beach, they own Orchard Apartments.

They owned Lohman Funeral Homes until selling it in 2012.

Hospital names digital manager

Stephanie Holland, of Ormond Beach, has been selected to serve as the digital enterprise manager for the five Florida Hospitals in Volusia and Flagler counties, responsible for digital marketing plans, search engine optimization, pay-per-click advertising and social media campaigns, as well as tracking, monitoring and analyzing each campaign.

Previously, Holland was director of global sales for Right Brain Media, a digital media and web technology company based in Orlando.

Holland earned a bachelor of science degree in communication arts from Indiana Wesleyan University and is currently pursuing a master of business administration.
