The Best Buddies organization was created to unite students with intellectual and developmental disabilities with their peers. This international program envisions a completely integrated society where adults and students with disabilities will have a more accepted place in society amongst people without disabilities.

Thanks to Flagler Palm Coast High School sophomore Daniel Thomas, Flagler County is now a part of this organization. Thomas came across the Best Buddies program while researching for a project at Indian Trails Middle School. Friday night's event was held at FPC’s Bistro and was open to everyone within the community. Bingo and a raffle was held to help raise funds for the program. A Best Buddies Friendship Walk will be held May 2, at Jacksonville Beach's Sea Walk Pavilion. For more information concerning the Best Buddies program, visit bestbuddiesflorida.org.
