Flagler AAUW helps women dress for the job

The American Association of University Women Flagler will sponsor a special “Dress to Impress” Fashion Show at 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 22 in Building 3, room 105 at Daytona State College, Flagler/Palm Coast Campus. Women can learn how to dress professionally for job interviews and the workplace, and on a budget. The event is free and there will be a drawing for clothing and accessories. Refreshments served.

 

Fundraiser for Avon 39 mile walk at The Golden Lion

The Golden Lion is hosting a live music, Full Moon Party with limbo contests from 1 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 10 p.m.  on Saturday, Oct. 24 to raise money for two women, Jean Carlson and Joy Bordt, who will be participating in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, a 39-mile walk. Each participant is required to submit $1,800 in charitable funds and all funds go to the Avon Breast Cancer Foundation
