School uniform shop moves, changes name
Julia Fuentes has moved and expanded her company, formerly known as Serendipity Living LLC, which is now The Uniform Company, to 2 Office Parke Drive, Suite. C, on the corner of Palm Coast Parkway and Clubhouse Drive.
“A lot of exciting things have happened since we originally launched last August,” said Julia, owner of The Uniform Company. “We have deepened our partnerships in the local community and refocused and rebranded our model of giving back.”
Fuentes called herself a “frustrated mom” when she launched her uniform company in August of 2014. “We are not a large corporation and I didn’t want to give my money to the big box stores when purchasing school uniforms for my daughter, knowing that the money did not stay in our local economy or help our local schools,” she said. The Uniform Company prides itself on helping to raise money for organizations in need. Fuentes said at least 10% goes back to local charities in Flagler County.

Palm Coast and Bunnell to host Eggs and Issues breakfast
Larry Williams, Bruce Campbell and Jim Landon will be the guest speakers for the Flagler County Chamber Eggs & Issues breakfast at 8 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, at the Grand Haven Golf Club at 500 Riverfront Drive.
The city managers will provide brief updates on their municipalities, participate in a short panel discussion and answer audience questions. Cost to attend is $15 with advance payment for members or $20 at the door. Future members pay $20 with advance reservations or $25 on the day of the event. Seating is limited; reservations are requested by 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, by calling 437-0106.
The Flagler Chamber hosts an Eggs & Issues breakfasts five times a year to raise awareness about local and business-related topics. Guest speakers usually include elected officials, community leaders and high-profile executives/business professionals.
Johnson Orthodontics Launches “Braces Bus”
Johnson Orthodontics has launched a “Braces Bus” to take patients to and from their orthodontic checkup appointments during school hours.
The “Braces Bus” is a Ford E-350 15-passenger van that has been fitted with signage by local sign shop Palm Coast Signs, identifying it as the Braces Bus from Johnson Orthodontics. Parents must pre-arrange a pickup with the student’s school and let Johnson Orthodontics know that they will require a pick up.
“We are empathetic to parents and guardians that work outside the home and are not always available to leave work, pick up their child, drive them to the orthodontist, then drive them back to school,” Dr. Paul Johnson said. “We are trying to make life easier for parents and more convenient to keep their child on track with their orthodontic care.”

Florida Hospital Flagler newbies
Florida Hospital Flagler has selected Lauri Johnson to serve as emergency department director. In this role, Johnson is responsible for the hospital’s emergency department operations and collaborates with staff, physicians, and ancillary departments to continuously improve patient care and patient experience.
Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Corey S. Rosenbaum has joined the Flagler Orthopedics and Sports Medicine practice and will be on the Florida Hospital HealthCare Partners medical staff at Florida Hospital Flagler.
Rosenbaum is the only orthopedic surgeon with fellowship-training in foot and ankle surgery in Flagler County.
The American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer has appointed radiation oncologist Dr. Luis Carrascosa to serve as cancer liaison physician for Florida Hospital Flagler’s cancer program. As CoC cancer liaison physician, Carrascosa is among a national network of more than 1,500 volunteer physicians who are responsible for providing leadership and direction to establish, maintain and support cancer programs.
In this role, Carrascosa is responsible for evaluating, interpreting, and reporting Florida Hospital Flagler’s performance data through the National Cancer Data Base and facilitating quality improvement initiatives based on data findings. In addition, he will lead CoC initiatives within the Palm Coast hospital’s cancer program and collaborate with agencies such as the American Cancer Society.

The Flagler County Chamber has welcomed Melissa Chipps to serve as Membership Development Account Executive, a newly created staff position. Chipps will report to the chamber’s Membership Development Director, Brian Genk, bringing new members to the Chamber and helping them make the most of their member experience.
Arrow Rehabilitation, an outpatient therapy center in Palm Coast, has added Kymber Whitney as its new Occupational Therapist.
Whitney is a New Orleans native and earned her Bachelors’ degree in Physiology from Southeastern Louisiana University. From there, she attended St. Augustine University and received her Master’s in Occupational Therapy.

Marketing 2 Go’s intern, Ally Perkins, has been promoted to Community Manager. Perkins’ new duties will include managing her own clients, drafting press releases, helping with eNewsletters, creating and editing client videos and managing accounts on Pinterest.
“I love working for Marketing 2 Go, so I’m just happy that I can help the business more,” said Perkins. “It’s an honor to move up from being an intern, and I’m looking forward to working on my new duties.”
Perkins is a Flagler Palm Coast High Schools graduate and has her bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication. She has been an intern at Marketing 2 Go since December of 2013.

Animal hospital adds new equipment
Dixie Commons Animal Hospital has added two new machines -- a new state-of-the-art hematology analyzer machine called IDEXX LaserCyte® DX, and a Catalyst One™ chemistry analyzer.
“The new machines help improve our surgeries, diagnoses, and customer service,” said owner Dr. Janet Brown. “They have been an amazing addition to the care we offer our patients.” The total investment of the two machines is approximately $40,000.
The new Catalyst One™ analyzer is one of the first in the state of Florida and the country. When combined with the LaserCyte® they receive the blood work results in eight minutes. The results report is then sent to a staff’s iPhone, iPad and computer within minutes. The LaserCyte® tests HCT, RBC, HGB, MCV, RDW, PLT blood counts and more.

Palmer Studio Architecture & Interiors expands, hires intern architect
Palmer Studio Architecture & Interiors has expanded and will now occupy half of the Professional Center at 216 S. 3rd St. in Flagler Beach. They have also hired intern architect Rob West.
“In February, I was fortunate to be invited by Charlie Helm of Alliance Financial Partners to take over a small office space here, and now, seven months later, we’re able take on a lot more square footage,” said Sean Palmer, owner of Palmer Studio Architecture & Interiors. “This increased area will foster greater collaboration with our consultants, help our team work more efficiently, and most importantly, provide better all-around service for our clients.”
The new office is roughly four times its previous size and now includes a conference room, printing and binding area, additional workspace and a little room to grow.
Not only has Palmer Studio increased its footprint, but it has also increased the number of employees with the addition of Rob West, an intern architect who recently graduated from the University of Central Florida’s Design in Architecture Program. Like Sean, Rob was born and raised in Flagler Beach and graduated from Flagler Palm Coast in 2001.
