Jesters Live will feature live entertainment

Bruce Rossmeyer’s Destination Daytona announced on Jan. 7 the opening of Jesters Live, an entertainment facility. It will be located in the 35,000-square-foot Pavilion.

“We are thrilled that Jesters Live will be hosting concerts and live events all year long,” said Shelly Rossmeyer Pepe, general manager of Destination Daytona and Daytona Harley-Davidson.  “When this development was built by our father, Bruce Rossmeyer, he envisioned developing a destination for adults to play and enjoy the entire year, and the opening of Jesters Live fits perfectly with that plan.”

Jesters Live will invest capital into improving the pavilion’s sound quality, food and bar selections and live music, club-style experience. It will be seeking national acts, according to Nick Avena, owner/operator.

The grand opening of Jesters Live will span Bike Week, March 4 – 10.

Group acquires land on U.S. 1 for development

NAI Realvest recently negotiated the sale of a 6.43-acre parcel of retail development land at 1670 N. U.S. 1.

Chris Butera, investment associate at NAI Realvest, negotiated the transaction representing the buyer, Destination Interchange LLC, who paid $812,500 for the land. The local seller, GTMDPP LLC, was represented by Tim Carroll of Watson Commercial Realty, Inc.

The property is across North U.S. 1 from Destination Daytona. The investors are expecting a demand for retail development in the future, as nearby subdivisions expand, and Ormond Crossings, a planned development, gets started.

Butera said there could be a gas station, fast-food, retail or even a big box store in the area someday.

Destination Interchange LLC is a group of Ormond Beach investors who were among the original members of the North U.S. 1 Task Force, which began the process of getting private business, the city and county to work together to improve the U.S. 1 medians. A major landscaping project is planned for this year.

The group already owned 11 acres in an irregular pattern and now has 18 acres in a rectangle with the recent purchase.

The first step will be to get the area fully annexed into the city, Butera said. Next, they will plat parcels that will be sold to developers.
