Cinderella’s castle is the backdrop for a local man’s proposal to his best friend.

On Saturday, Dec. 12, Stephanie Pascucci walked toward six people standing in front of Cinderella’s castle at Disney World. Each one held a sign that spelled out “Say Yes.” She turned around to find Byron Catroppa down on one knee, ring in hand.

Pascucci’s love of Disney made it the only place Catroppa considered when he popped the question in front of friends and family and about 1,000 witnesses, many just visitors to the park on that day.

The couple had been best friends at Matanzas High School and went off to college when they went out to dinner one evening. The rest is one for the fairy tale book.

The proposal was video recorded and put on YouTube.com.

“We are sending the video to Ellen DeGeneres so maybe we can win a honeymoon,” Catroppa said.

The wedding date is tentatively scheduled for March 11, 2017.

Where? On the boardwalk at Disney World of course.
