Hospital auxiliary helps NICU

Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center auxiliary donated $65,000 at the end of 2016 to support the hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit.

“Our hard working, dedicated volunteers at the Bird Cage Gift Shop and the Pinkadily Thrift Shop endow the largest portion of the auxiliary's annual donation, along with fundraisers held throughout the year that other volunteers assist with,” said Pat McCarthy, auxiliary president.

In 2015, the hospital volunteers pledged to raise $200,000 to support the construction and equipment of the 16-bed Level II NICU at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center. They have now donated $70,728 toward that amount.

Opened in August, the hospital’s NICU cares for newborns 32 weeks and older.

“The NICU is extremely appreciative of this generous gift, as this offers us the ability to purchase additional equipment and supplies as we extend the healing ministry of Christ and provide excellent care to our smallest patients,” said Becky Vernon, director of women and children’s services.

In their own twist, Adams, Cameron & Co. placed real estate agents variously throughout the video to appear as if they were participating in a real estate broker’s open house event. The video was shot at 1240 John Anderson Drive in Ormond Beach, a waterfront property currently listed for $849,900.

The video was officially released on January 13th and has already attracted 6,256 recorded views on Facebook alone. It has reached over 25,000 people and has been shared 94 times.

“It’s wonderful when our agents can get together and showcase homes in new and unique ways while having fun at the same time!” says John Adams, president.
