A restaurant open for breakfast and lunch, called Flapjack Johnny’s, has opened in Port Orange, and another franchise will open in Ormond Beach after the first of the year.

A ribbon cutting was held by the Port Orange South Daytona Chamber of Commerce on Nov. 2 at the Port Orange location in the Pavilion, 5543 S. Williamson Blvd., Suite 905. The restaurant serves breakfast from 7 a.m. to 2.30 p.m., seven days a week, and lunch from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The Ormond Beach location will be in the former Liberty Grill, 165 N. Yonge St., a restaurant that closed several years ago. The building was purchased by Albert and Deanna Cisson, and they have been seeking a restaurant tenant for more than a year.

“We were very selective,” said Deanna Cisson. “We were approached by dozens of restaurants. We wanted the right type of restaurant for our community.”

She called Flapjack Johnny’s a family restaurant with great food, made from scratch.

The building will be completely refurbished for the new restaurant, Cisson said.

The Cissons also own a marketing company called Progressive Edge Group.
