Stephen Harlan, digital artist, will open a month-long art show at Ocean Art Gallery during the Ocean Beach Art Walk, 5- 8 p.m., Saturday, May 4. Harlan is one the nation’s top digital artists, according to Ashley Rudicel, spokeswoman for the gallery, and he will give a demonstration at 6 p.m.
A free shuttle van will take guests to six galleries on Granada Boulevard in the Art Walk. Visit Ormond Beach Mainstreet Arts District on Facebook.
Walmart to offer grocery delivery
Walmart, 1521 W. Granada Blvd., will offer online grocery delivery service beginning May 8. There will be a ribbon cutting for the new service at 9:15 a.m. at the store and vendor samples until 2 p.m.
To order groceries, download the “walmart grocery app” (the orange icon.). The cost of a delivery will be $7.95, but the first delivery is free, according to store manager Mark Rogers.
Currently, Walmart offers grocery pickup, where items are ordered and then picked up by the shopper.
Rogers said Walmart is currently hiring, and more employees may be needed in the future as personal shoppers for those who order deliveries.

Local florist designs for Mother’s Day
The 2019 Local Artisan Collection for Mother’s Day by 1-800-Flowers will include a handcrafted arrangement by Ashlee Rae Roberson, who runs her family-owned shop, Simply Roses, 124 S. Nova Road in Rivergate Village Shopping Center. She was one of eleven florists from across the country selected to participate in one of the company’s Local Artisan Design Workshops. Her design is called Vibrant Gem Bouquet.
“It was an honor to be chosen to participate in the Local Artisan Design Workshop. Mother’s Day is the number one floral holiday, so it’s a special time in my shop, especially because we are family-owned and I still get to work side by side with my mom,” Roberson said.
Arrangements in this year’s collection range from $39.99 to $124.99 and are available at 1-800-Flowers.com.
Beachside shop changes hands
A new store, Northshore Gift Shop, now occupies the building at the corner of Bovard Avenue and East Granada Boulevard, the site of the now-closed Sand Box Beachwear.
The new shop, which opened at the end of February, has casual wear, bathing suits, souvenirs, boogie boards and related items. The owner also has two shops in Daytona Beach including Souvenir City.
Huntington continues growth
Huntington at Hunter’s Ridge, a 55 and older age-restricted community, has announced that Platinum Builders is the new builder of The Villas at Huntington.
“We offer a quiet and relaxing living environment, versus some of the other 55+ communities that promote more of a party atmosphere,” said Sam Crouch, director of marketing and sales.
The community of Huntington at Hunter’s Ridge, which includes single-family homes, continues to grow as 200 additional lots are in the development stage.
AdventHealth opens rehab
AdventHealth Daytona Beach, on Williamson Boulevard near Ormond Beach, has opened its new 32-bed Inpatient Rehabilitation Center, specializing in stroke and neuro patients, hip fractures, brain and spinal cord injuries, amputations and medical management issues. The new unit represents a $13.8 million investment. The hospital is now a 359-bed facility. Rehabilitation was done previously at Oceanside Hospital, which was closed after hurricane damage and has now been demolished.
