The first Firehouse Subs in Port Orange opened its doors to the public on Wednesday, July 3, under the ownership of Franchisee Miah Manik.
This is Manik’s second Firehouse Subs restaurant after opening his first in Palm Bay in 2015. Manik discovered his passion for the brand after dining at his cousin’s Firehouse Subs restaurant in North Carolina, and learning how the brand gives back to local communities through Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, according to a press release.
Originally from Kansas, Manik worked for nearly 15 years in the restaurant industry before moving to Florida to open his first Firehouse Subs restaurant. He is thrilled to expand his business with the help of his wife Zerin Sultana, who helps run the restaurant in Palm Bay.
“I’ve been in the restaurant industry for a long time and what sets Firehouse Subs apart is the heart of the brand that is engrained in everything we do,” Manik said in a press release. “From the welcoming customer service we provide to guests every day to the lifesaving equipment we help fund with Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, we pride ourselves on genuinely caring about others. I’m excited to bring all of that to Port Orange.”
Manik is dedicated to sharing the brand’s commitment to hearty and flavorful food, as well as its mission for service and giving back through Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, which has granted more than $7.2 million in Florida.
The Port Orange Firehouse Subs restaurant is located at 1465 Dunlawton Ave., Suite 102, and is open from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
It will offer third-party delivery and in-house catering services to accommodate occasions of all sizes, from office meetings to family gatherings.
Founded by former firefighting brothers, the restaurant décor reflects the founding family’s decades of fire and police service with gear and photos donated by the Port Orange Fire Department. There is also a custom, hand-painted mural by Chief Mural Artist Joe Puskas, depicting Manik and his wife getting ready for a picnic in front of the Dunlawton Bridge with a local hero from the Port Orange Fire Department.
