Photos: Port Orange resident wins 9th-annual Cardboard Boat Regatta

Hidden Treasure's 9th-annual Cardboard Boat Regatta gave Port Orange residents something to laugh at this weekend.

Port Orange’s Hidden Treasures restaurant hosted Rose Bay’s 9th-annual Cardboard Boat Regatta on Saturday, July 20.

This year's winner was Shaun Ferrarie, who won $75 (plus liquor and gift cards) Ferrarie has competed in the Regatta for the past six years with his handcrafted boat “Hawaiian Punch.” The second place winners were Grant Barker and his daughter Alorah Barker, who won $50 plus the prizes.

The boats raced across the river, around Cruisin’ Tiki’s floating bar which was stationed about 50 yards out, and back to the dock.
