J Grill, a Middle Eastern bar and grill, opened recently in the Tuscany Shoppes at 1185 W. Granada Blvd., offering a unique dining experience with a variety of ethnic foods.

The kosher restaurant has authentic Middle Eastern and Israeli cuisine from old-time recipes with a modern style. Manager Ron Morali calls it a fusion with American and classic Jewish food.

Morali said the shawarma roll, an egg roll stuffed with shawarma and Israeli cabbage mix, is an example of the fusion, as well as the shnitzel, fried chicken breast; and Reuben, which has corned beef, sauerkraut, pastrami, etc. on challah bread.

“People say they’ve never had a Reuben like this before,” he said.

The restaurant moved from Granada Place Plaza, 366 W. Granada Blvd., where the name was Jerusalem Grill. The new name reflects a more modern concept, Morali said.

The location was renovated by the restaurant owners, Yehuda and Yaffa Morali.

The previous location will re-open as Café J in about a month and will include a bakery.

J Grill has lunch specials, a bar, deli and catering and plans to offer online ordering in the future

Morail said the clientele they established in the first location now comes to their new restaurant, and they are getting new customers in the new location.
