Seven years in the making: We're opening an office!

It’s no secret that I love my career.

It’s something that I have poured my heart and soul into since first getting my license in 2013. So when we welcomed our little man into our family, I wasn’t sure how to handle the balance that is being a working mama on top of my leadership responsibilities and being me.

The first several months, I consistently felt like I wasn’t enough as a mom, wife, Realtor, leader or friend. I believe that this led me to experience severe postpartum depression. It was an extremely scary time, challenging in every aspect of my life, and quite honestly, I didn’t know how to bring Megan back and feel “normal” again.

On Oct. 19, 2019, I started meditating and journaling daily. This journaling consisted of writing down five things I am grateful for as well as 10 goals written in present tense. On Jan. 8, a little over 6 months ago, I wrote down: "I have a 1,000-square-foot office in Flagler County," and I have been writing it daily ever since.

Today, almost six months later, that goal is becoming a reality.

I have doubted myself. Are people even going to want to work with me? I have lost many hours of sleep, and you already know I have cried a few tears..

The other emotions I have felt have been equally as intense; joy, love, excitement and gratitude. It has been seven long years of great success, but also great learning opportunities (i.e., mistakes/failures). I will take the lessons I learned from those experiences to help lead the agents who walk into our door and to continue to help the customers who trust us with what is, often times, the biggest investment of their lives.

When I began to doubt myself, I was reminded that I am not alone in this. I have one of the best supports and backbones around in my wonderful husband. Brady has jumped in and embraced this rollercoaster ride with me, reminding me to fasten my seatbelt along the way. He is the reason I can chase my dreams at full speed ahead! And also why we didn’t spend our entire life savings on office furniture — no matter how cute I thought it was.

Of course there are still stressors, but I’m learning to trust in the process. We will have our success. We will grow. We will learn. And most importantly, we will have fun along the way! I’m grateful for the continued opportunities that this amazing career has given me. I can’t wait to see where we end up in the next seven years!
