Flagler Schools Exceptional Student Education Director Tim King has resigned.

King wrote in a May 29 resignation letter that he is pursuing another opportunity in the field of education.

"It is with mixed emotions that I am submitting my letter of resignation," King wrote. "For the past 11 years, I have enjoyed working and serving in Flagler Schools. I am proud of the work we have done over the last four years as I served as Director of Exceptional Student Education. I have many fond memories and have been blessed to make many friends while working in FCSD. While I will always treasure the memories and friendships that I have made, I now have the chance to pursue another educational opportunity that impacts students across the state."

He added, "While I am leaving for the next adventure in my career, I will forever carry a piece of the Flagler Schools in my heart."
