Volusia County Schools' seniors can now receive up to six tickets each for their graduation ceremonies, announced the school district on Monday, April 12.

In late March, the district and the county had taken measures to increase tickets to four per graduating senior, at the request of students and their families. Originally, the plans only allowed students up to two tickets. The district said in its announcement that the decisions was made "after careful consideration of health and safety guidelines," and that the ease in capacity restrictions at the county-operated Ocean Center were made at the request of the district.

Ceremonies are scheduled to be held June 3-6 at the Ocean Center. All graduates and guests will need to wear a face covering and practice social distancing.

High schools will announce details on graduation ticket sales in the coming weeks, the district stated. The ceremonies will still be livestreamed to allow extended family to watch remotely. They will be recorded and posted on the district's website.
