The Kentucky Fried Chicken location on Old Kings Road was evacuated April 26 after a "giggling" caller said they'd blow up the restaurant because they were tired of staff getting their order wrong.

The false report led the the evacuation of the restaurant and the use of a police K-9 to clear the facility.

A manager was taking orders at the drive-thru when the restaurant's phone rang at 11:35 a.m., according to a Flagler County Sheriff's Office case report. The manager answered it, and "heard someone giggling on the other end," according to the report.

She hung up, but the phone rang again a minute later, from the same number. There was silence on the other end, so she again hung up. But then the phone rang again, and when the manager picked up, a male voice said, "I’m tired of this s----, you keep f----ing up my order. I’m gonna blow that b---- up.”

The manager evacuated everyone from the restaurant and contacted the Sheriff's Office.

A deputy checked the building using a bomb-sniffing dog and didn't find any explosives, and the caller's phone number turned out to be an internet-generated number.

The Sheriff's Office determined that the call was a "swatting-type incident."

There had been several such cases in Flagler County in March, prompting Sheriff Rick Staly to state in a news release, "Swatting calls are not harmless fun. They are illegal, dangerous, and carry serious consequences that can divert responses to real emergencies.”

The KFC closed for the rest of the day, according to the incident report.
