Daytona police officer shot, $100,000 reward offered for suspect

Multiple agencies are searching for 29-year-old Othal Wallace.

A Daytona Beach Police Officer was shot in the head while responding to a suspicious incident the night of Wednesday, June 23.

DBPD reports that the incident occurred before 9 p.m. at 133 Kingston Avenue, and after several minutes passed, the officer stopped responding to other units calling him on the radio. Officers responded to his location and found him lying on the ground and he was transported to Halifax Medical center where he is currently listed in critical condition. 

Multiple agencies are searching for the suspect, who was identified as 29-year-old Othal Wallace. Wallace fled the scene after the shooting, and there is a $100,000 reward for anyone who can help law enforcement locate him. Wallace may be in a gray 2016 Honda HRV with a California tag of 7TNX532.

If you have information on Wallace's whereabouts, DBPD asks you call 911 immediately. Anonymous tips can also be submitted online and through Crime Stoppers of Northeast Florida at 888-277-TIPS.
