The Palm Coast city government's senior communications officer, Brad West, resigned the morning of June 23.

West had worked for the city for less than nine months. His resignation letter, sent to to the city's director of public information and engagement, Brittany Kershaw, a 8:49 a.m., was just two lines:

"This message is to inform you that I am resigning my position as Sr. Communications Officer," he wrote. "My last day of employment will be July 9, 2021."

Kershaw said that West had accepted a job offer elsewhere. The city did not take West up on his offer to stay through July 9, Kershaw said.

West had spent less than year with the city.
