A 42-year-old Bunnell man faces multiple felony charges for stealing his relatives' belongings and then selling the items at pawn shops.

Flagler County Sheriff’s Office responded on March 4 to a home in the 1800 block of Hickory Street in Bunnell regarding a stolen 8750-watt Predator generator.

The victim told deputies that he believed the generator must have been stolen the previous day. It was valued at $1,000.

Two days later, FCSO again responded to the residence. Another family member who lives on the property reported that $1,300 worth of her jewelry had been stolen from inside her trailer.

Further investigation revealed that $3,450 worth of additional jewelry was also missing from the main residence.

The victims told deputies that they suspected that  42-year-old David Hospodor, who lives inside the main residence, was responsible.

FCSO detectives discovered that Hospodor had sold all of the stolen items to pawn shops throughout Flagler County.

When selling the stolen items, Hospodor gave the merchants his Ohio driver’s license and modified his phone number by changing a single digit.

“This is another great example of how technology and good old fashioned police work come together to solve crimes and return stolen property,” Sheriff Rick Staly said. “I am very happy we were able to quickly locate the stolen property and get it back to the victims quickly.”

David Hospodor was arrested and transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility.

He is charged with Burglary of a Dwelling, nine counts of False Verification to a Pawnbroker and nine counts of Dealing in Stolen Property. He is being held on a $50,000 bond.
