18-year-old woman killed in crash inside Ormond Green subdivision

Ormond Beach Police report the victim ran onto the road in an attempt to stop 20-year-old Noah Motto from leaving the scene after a fight.

An 18-year-old Ormond Beach woman was killed after she was hit by a pickup truck around 2:30 a.m. in the intersection of Greenvale Drive and Ormond Green Boulevard on Wednesday, March 24.

Ormond Beach Police report that the victim, Ericka Dane, had gotten into an argument with 20-year-old Noah Motto, the driver of the pickup truck, in front of a residence in the Ormond Green subdivision. According to the police report, Motto left the home in his truck as police were on their way to respond to the residence. Motto was traveling south on Ormond Green Boulevard when Dane ran onto the road in an attempt to stop him. 

The police report details that Dane laying in the roadway when police arrived. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Motto fled the scene after the incident. Police report he was located later by Volusia County Sheriff's deputies at his home in Ormond-by-the-Sea. He was arrested on a felony charge for the fatal crash.
