With the addition of the Pfizer vaccine and a consolidation of vaccination sites, the Flagler County Health Department has modified its COVID-19 vaccination opportunities for the next three weeks.
According to Health Officer Bob Snyder, the shift was inevitable, particularly as vaccine availability has increased and the eligibility age has lowered.

“Now that there is an abundance of COVID-19 vaccine in our community, we’re refocusing our near-term strategy to vaccinating children age 12 to 17,” Snyder said. “We have ordered an ample supply of Pfizer vaccine. Since parents are used to bringing their kids to the health department for back-to-school immunizations, we are staying open Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. to vaccinate anyone ages 12 and older with Pfizer. We hope parents will utilize these after-hours clinics to protect their children from COVID-19. This is our shot, Flagler County, to put COVID-19 behind us.”
Phase two of the health department’s operation involved partnering with local government and organizations to offer as many as 13 clinics a week in various parts of the community.
Phase three calls for scaling back the number of locations it operates, expanding vaccine choice and extending eligibility to ages 12 to 17 (with parental consent). As part of the plan, the health department is offering after-hours clinics Tuesday and Wednesday evenings between May 25 and June 9. Walk-ins will be accepted; however, appointments are preferred by calling 386-437-7350 ext. 0. (Only Pfizer only be offered during these clinics.) Second dose appointments will be scheduled for three weeks later.
The health department will offer another after-hours clinic Thursday evenings from 4:30 to 6:30PM at the Flagler County Tax Collector’s office in Flagler Beach (2525 Moody Blvd.) This site will be open May 27, June 3, June 10 and June 17. Only Moderna will be offered at this location.

In addition to the health department, 18 pharmacies in Flagler County offer at least one type of COVID-19 vaccine. Twelve of them offer the Pfizer vaccine for children over age 12 and adults.
