On Thursday, Sept. 23, at approximately 4 a.m. the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office responded to an activated business alarm. When deputies arrived on the scene, they found a shattered side door that led into the business. As more deputies arrived on the scene, a perimeter around the business was set up in an attempt to locate the suspect; however, the suspect was not located.

The business owner arrived on the scene and advised that the cash register was stolen, which contained over $1,000. The owner was able to access the business surveillance system and when deputies watched the video they were able to identify the suspect as Scott Andrew Green because of his prior arrests and encounters with FCSO deputies.

Using investigative techniques and shared technology with surrounding agencies the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office was able to locate Green driving in St. Johns County and conducted a traffic stop. FCSO deputies and detectives responded to St. Johns County where Green was arrested and booked into the St. Johns County Correctional Facility.

Green has 41 felony charges and 18 felony convictions in the state of Florida.

“This is a good example of our deputies, technology, and partner agencies acting quickly to apprehend this career criminal,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “This guy is a one-man crime wave and needs to go to prison for a long time. With all his arrests and prior convictions, he’s already had too many chances to turn his life around. Now, he needs to go to the big house so he can’t continue to prey on our community. Once again, this arrest shows the teamwork we have between agencies so criminals can’t run and hide by going to another jurisdiction.”

Scott Andrew Green was arrested and transported to the St. Johns County Detention Center for Burglary of Dwelling/ Structure with Damage over $1,000 and Grand Theft. He will be brought back to Flagler County after his initial booking in St. Johns County.
