Flagler County’s unemployment rate declines to 3.4%

147 residents find work, with fewer receiving unemployment benefits.

Flagler County’s unemployment rate declined to 3.4%, an improvement of 0.5% from last month, according to the latest data release from the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity.

The number of Flagler County residents that are employed (either working in this county or another county) increased from 47,030 workers in January 2022 to 47,177 workers, an increase of 147.

The number of unemployed job-seeking residents in Flagler County decreased from 1,895 in February 2022 to 1,683, a decline of 212 residents.

Greg Blosé, president and CEO of the Palm Coast-Flagler Regional Chamber of Commerce, says he’s encouraged by the latest data: “This was a positive unemployment report for Flagler County. In January, we had an influx of unemployed residents, mostly due to seasonal job loss. Last month, 147 residents found a job, and with 200+ fewer residents on unemployment, Flagler County continues to head in the right direction.”

The Flagler County labor force remained relatively flat, slightly decreasing from 48,925 residents in January 2022 to 48,860 in February 2022.
