Corey Costa, owner of the Raw Juice Cafe in Flagler Beach, has added a new restaurant to his menu: Sip & Surf.

Located at 701 N. Oceanshore Blvd., Sip & Surf offers breakfast, bakery items, a variety of fresh-brewed coffee and tea flavors, ice-cold beer and wine.

Costa said he was surfing on the beach after the hurricanes in November when the landlord of 701 N. Oceanshore Blvd. approached him with the idea of opening a coffee shop there. Costa said that's when he realized there wasn't a coffee shop across from the beach on State Road A1A.

"When you're waking up in the morning, the first thing in the morning, you want to see the sunrise and get a coffee," he said. "So I just thought to add it to the beach experience."

Sip & Surf officially opened in April, and since then, Costa said, business has been good. He said the restaurant has been working on transitioning from commercial syrups to using syrups made in-house.

Costa said that right now, Sip & Surf has several holiday season flavors, and he hopes to add lunch items to the menu soon.
