A 56-year-old Palm Coast man attacked another man with a knife on Jan. 25 after the suspect attempted to pick up the victim's girlfriend.

Eric Galdabini was arrested later that day and has been charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. The victim received several cuts from Galdabini's knife, but none of the wounds were life threatening, according to a Flagler County Sheriff's Office press release.

The victim and his girlfriend were out for a walk around 10 a.m. in the neighborhood on Barrister Lane when the attack happened. The victim's girlfriend was trailing behind him when Galdabini drove up to her in his Jeep, slowed down and asked if she needed a ride.

The woman told FCSO deputies that he circled them in the neighborhood multiple times before she and her boyfriend both told him to leave, according to Galdabini's arrest report. Galdabini then parked his jeep and got out, rushing the victim and attempting to hit him.

The victim hit Galdabini in self defense and attempted to bring Galdabini to the ground in a headlock when the 56-year-old began slashing at the victim with his knife, the report said. The victim then let Galdabini go and the suspect immediately fled the scene.

Deputies located Galdabini's Jeep at Belle Terre and Pine Lakes Parkways, and the man was arrested. A home surveillance camera recorded footage of the altercation and deputies found the bloody knife in Gladabini's car, the press release said.

Galdabini is being held at the county jail on $40,000 bond. He was previously convicted of battery in 2010 in Volusia County.
