Kathy Austrino, real estate broker and owner of TAG Ventures Real Estate Services in Palm Coast, is running for the Palm Coast City Council District 1 seat.

Austrino ran against Mayor David Alfin for the mayor seat in 2021, but Austrino has also served on several parent teacher organizations and a school advisory committee, according to her campaign website.  Austrino said she’s running because of the issues she’s seen recently with the city, like a lack of communication with residents and a lack of prepared infrastructure to support the city’s growth.

On her campaign website, Austrino lists her four key priorities: transparency, keeping taxes low, safety and creating jobs. She said she also knows the city’s infrastructure needs to be upgraded to continue supporting the city’s growth.

Austrino said her integrity and the respect she treats people with are just some of the qualities she has that makes her a good fit for the job. She said she wants to ensure the council is transparent with residents and encourage honest communication without empty accusations and yelling.

“We have to all be able to come to the table and work things out,” she said. “We can’t hear each other if everybody’s yelling.”
