The Children's Musical Theatre Workshop's show starring kindergarten to fifth-graders had them singing, dancing and prancing.
The Ormond Beach Performing Arts Center's stage was alight Saturday night with busy little singing elves, snowmen, gingerbread men and ballerinas during the Children's Musical Theatre Workshop's rendition of the "North Pole Musical."
From Dec. 1-3, local elementary school-aged children took the stage in a show full of dancing, singing and laughter as all the creatures of the North Pole try to put together the 400th-annual musical. "North Pole Musical" took the audience through the audition process as all the characters tried to put their own spin on their performance.
Starring Elliot Robinson as Santa Claus, Anna Upchurch as Mrs. Claus and Brie Flynn as Rudolph, the show featured a variety of both small and large group musical numbers like "Hoofin' it Tonight," "The No Christmas Blues" and "The Nutty Cracker Suite," a fast-paced three-minute version of the classic "Nutcracker" ballet.
