Seabreeze High School's 7-on-7 football team played three games on Wednesday, June 20, at Pedro Menendez. It was the first time the Sandcrabs have played in an event since the University of Central Florida's 7-on-7 camp nearly two weeks ago.

Of the teams they played, the Sandcrabs were able to beat Halifax Academy twice.

Seabreeze coach Troy Coke said the Sandcrabs have struggled defensively throughout the summer. The Sandcrabs surrendered 23 points per game last season but gave up 31.7 ppg in their seven losses. Coke added that returning cornerback Riley Nettles has played well this summer.

"Defensively, we need to improve our play-making," Coke said. "We've been in good position most of the summer but have dropped too many interceptions."

Wide receiver Orion Mountain has been a standout on the offensive side of the ball and played well at Menendez, Coke said. In addition, Deshaun Hugee and Robert Mack have been the top two pass catchers for the Sandcrabs, and rising sophomore quarterback Isaiah Shirley continues to improve at the position. Shirley was the MVP of the Sandcrabs' junior varsity squad as a receiver.
