Rob Bridger is also a past president for The Trails HOA.
U.S. Navy Veteran and past homeowners association president for The Trails, Rob Bridger, has announced he will run for Ormond Beach mayor in the upcoming November elections.
Bridger, an Ormond Beach resident since 1989, worked in various administrative positions with the state for 35 years before retiring in 2011. He said in a candidate statement that he chose to enter the race because he realized he had to do something to give citizens a choice and voice in how growth and development is managed in the city. The CANDO 2-endorsed candidate said he felt the "recent unrestrained development and clear-cutting of acres of trees is a frontal assault to our way of life."
If elected, Bridger said he would reinvest in existing infrastructure and the city's historic buildings as well as work to preserve open spaces, natural beauty and natural wetlands. He also stated he will work to ensure that impact fees are assessed and that "done-deal rezoning" ends. Aside from environmental issues, Bridger said he will strive to address the city's growth-related traffic issues.
