Donuts, running and a good cause.
The Ormond Beach Police Athletic League held its annual Donut Dash 5K on Saturday, April 24. A total of 198 runners completed the race, which began at the Trails Shopping Center and looped through the Trails and Tomoka Oaks neighborhoods. Participants received a medal, T-shirt, and of course, donuts at designated stations, courtesy of Krispy Kreme.
The proceeds of the event benefited OBPAL's youth programs. OBPAL was established in 1996, and helps about 800 children, teens and their families every year through its programs that aim at fostering positive relationships between youth and police officers, according to the city website.
