Erika J. Barger was admitted to the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States in a bar admission ceremony at the Supreme Court of the United States in Washington, DC on Monday June 5, 2017.
Barger attended the ceremony as a member of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity International, as part of the organization's 51st Annual "PAD" Day at the U.S. Supreme Court."
Chief Justice John Roberts presided over the ceremony, which was held in open court, before all nine U.S. Supreme Court Justices.
At a reception of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, who sponsored her bar admission, attendees had a special visit from Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
Barger is a graduate of Seabreeze High School, Daytona State College, Georgetown University, and Florida State University College of Law. She is the daughter of Jack and Rita Barger of Ormond Beach, and is the compliance director for Holland Financial in Ormond Beach.
The Knights of Columbus at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Ormond Beach flew a 20 x 30-foot American flag over the church as part of the parish’s Fortnight for Freedom activities and celebration of Independence Day.
Launched in 2011 by Roman Catholic bishops in the United States, the Fortnight for Freedom is an annual event to promote the preservation and protection of religious liberty through prayer and activism.
On June 30th the Ormond Beach YMCA summer camp participants received backpacks full of school supplies from Morgan Stanley in Ormond Beach. Nearly 100 filled backpacks were given out.
