Enviro Camp now underway.
Enviro Camp got underway the week of July 7 at The Casements with the campers learning about weather through a visit by Meterologist Eric Burris of WESH 2, and conducting their own experiments.
Now in its ninth year, the summer camp for children, ages 6 to 9, often fills to capacity. It meets weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The children learn about nature and the environment by taking field trips, learning from experts and conducting experiments. Next week, the topic will be “living green,” and subjects will include recycling.
Cultural Center Coordinator Siobhan Daly said they go on field trips to the beach, gardens and parks.
“There are great resources in our natural surroundings,” she said.
