To join the Bike Week celebration, the business combined vintage doughnuts with vintage bikes for a show on Saturday, March 10.
To compliment the vintage doughnuts inside Donnie's Donuts in Ormond Beach, the business held its first Vintage Bike Show, as part of the Bike Week festivities, on Saturday, March 10.
Donald Summerlin, one of the owners of Donnie's Donuts, said the old-fashioned cake doughnuts the shop creates every day are the kind of doughnuts that were made in the 1920s.
While Donald doesn't have a bike of his own, his 1970 pickup truck, complete with the Donnie's Donuts logo on the side, shows his appreciation for vintage.
"I love old bikes, as you can tell from my truck," he said. "I don't ride; I fall. But I love motorcycles."
Bikers rolled up to set up their vintage bikes in the parking lot behind the shop at 200 E. Granada Blvd. for an afternoon of classics.
"We thought it was a perfect partnership: vintage doughnuts and vintage bikes," said Patti Summerlin, owner of Donnie's Donuts.
